Quality Parts: X-Ray Cover

Our first concern is always how to produce a part for a customer that is of the utmost quality.

Pictured is a cover for a portable x ray machine. This unit is produced in our vacuum former. The challenge for making this unit was that as an assembled unit, it is too deep to form. Our engineers immediately went to work figuring out how to develop this part for a large, potential customer.

We decided to make it out of two pieces that would mate together. It was a difficult task to make sure the aluminum tooling, which is very expensive, was made properly so the parts would mate correctly.

Once we formed the parts, the next thing we had to work on was the trim. There are many cutouts and reliefs that had to be accurate so that the machine holes and slots would line up to the formed parts.

Our expert engineers and fabricators developed a process that was highly successful. Our customer was so happy with the result that we continue to make many other parts.
